Aggie fans react to Primetime Madness scrimmage

LOGAN – Aggie fans got their first chance to see both basketball teams during the annual Primetime Madness event Friday night in the Spectrum. The men’s and women’s teams each scrimmaged for 20 minutes a piece.

With so many new faces on both teams, fans were able to finally see highly-anticipated recruits in person. One of those recruits, Koby McEwen didn’t disappoint. McEwen scored 12 points and turned some heads in the process.

Another newcomer, Snow College transfer Norbert Janicek, scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds.

Julion Pearre had five points while Shane Rector added four more with two steals.

Other newcomers like Abel Porter, Klay Stall, Daron Henson and Sam Merrill also had fans cheering.

A 3-point contest was held after the scrimmages. Sophomore guard Lindsey Jensen won the women’s side of things, and Ngor Barnaba’s 12 3-pointers won it on the men’s.

Rachel Brewster led the women’s scrimmage with nine points. Newly-recruited Australian freshman guard <span>Eliza West had four assists and three steals to help lead her team to victory.</span>
