LOGAN – Jalen Moore received another preseason honor today. In addition to being named Preseason all-Mountain West, the senior forward was named to the 2017 Julius Erving Award watch list with 20 other players nationwide. The award is in its third year and recognizes the top small forward annually.

The Sky View High standout has played significant time in all three years at USU. Last year Moore surpassed the 1,000 point mark while averaging 15.2 points and six rebounds per game. It was the second year in a row he led the team in both stats.

Moore said he is looking forward to playing small forward this season. He said he has had to play under the basket more than he has liked during his time at USU, but will get to play the three this year.

“I get to come off ball screens,” he said. “Be a playmaker, make things happen for myself and the team and I think that is where I excel in the game of basketball.”
