Man dies in vehicle accident in Logan

LOGAN — A man died Tuesday night in a vehicle accident after the car he was driving collided with a traffic light pole at 1400 North 1000 West.

Logan City Police Capt. Curtis Hooley said the man was driving southbound when the car drifted and struck the pole on the west side of the road.

When officers arrived on the scene they found the driver unresponsive and pinned inside the car. Paramedics and fire personnel extricated the man while attempting life saving measures unsuccessfully. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hooley said the man’s identity is not being released until family is notified.

The road was partially blocked while crews cleared the accident. The crash remains under investigation.
