Complaints continue to come into Logan City regarding urban deer that are causing damage in numerous neighborhoods. At Tuesday’s meeting of the Logan City Council, one man said he had been involved in two different automobile accidents involving deer within Logan City limits.

Mayor Craig Petersen said the city is working on the problem with hopes of resolving it before long.

“We did have a survey conducted in connection with the Community Bridge Project by a (Utah State) University class,” explained Petersen. “Dr. Mark Brunson in Natural Resources had worked on that with his class.

“That’s almost done and I think I will be able to have at least preliminary results by mid-November, maybe not all the results but enough to generate some conclusions for us. I think that’s an important piece of information. I’m not sure it’s the definitive piece. I think there are a lot of other things we have to consider.”

The mayor said any action taken has to go through the State Division of Wildlife Resources and the city has been communicating with the agency.
