Police arrest two men accused of storage shed burglary

LOGAN — Charges have been filed against two men accused of breaking into a storage shed and attempting to flee.

Logan City Police Capt. Tyson Budge said officers arrested 56-year-old David R. Groger and 23-year-old Zachery R. Wood on Wednesday, after the two reportedly broke into a storage unit near 521 S. Main St.

Police began looking for the two men after a witness saw them break into the unit, load some of its contents into a truck, and drive away.

An officer spotted the truck and conducted a traffic stop. Groger, who is from Preston, Idaho, and Wood, who is from Hyrum, were both taken into custody for questioning and later arrested.

Budge said investigators are looking at whether the two men might be responsible for other similar burglaries that have occurred recently.

Thursday, Groger and Wood were arraigned in 1st District Court. Prosecutors with the Cache County Attorney’s Office filed charges of felony burglary and theft against both men, along with misdemeanor drug charges. Both were assigned a public defender and ordered to appear again in court next week.
