Idaho police find the bodies of missing brothers at fatal crash scene near Preston

Officers have located the bodies of two brothers who are believed to have died in a fatal accident, one-week after deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office began looking for them.

Idaho State Police report 30-year-old Jhoan C. Nieto and 26-year-old William A. Nieto were found dead Sunday afternoon, west of Preston. Officers believe the two were riding in a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire traveling westbound on State Highway 36. The car was driven off the left shoulder of the road and rolled down an embankment.

Neither Jhoan or William were wearing seat belts. Both of them were reportedly ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Officers have yet to determine when the accident occurred or who was driving the vehicle at the time. The crash remains under investigation.

Both men were originally from Bogota, Colombia in South America, and were living in Franklin County. They were reported missing on December 6 after family and friends reported last having contact with the brothers on November 30.

Idaho State Police have notified Jhoan and William’s family. Funeral services are being arranged.
