Man arrested in Millville after DUI hit and run

Deputies arrested a 29-year-old man in Millville Wednesday night, after he reportedly fled the scene of a traffic accident and later got into an altercation with the victim, before trying to hide from law enforcement.

Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Peterson said Jeremiah Clinton was booked into the Cache County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence, assault and 10 other offences. He is being held on $11,570 bail.

Clinton reportedly drove away after being involved in a minor traffic accident earlier in the evening. The victim of the accident followed him to a neighborhood near 300 E. 300 S. in Millville, west of the City Park.

Peterson said the two men got into a physical altercation when the victim confronted Clinton.

When deputies and Utah Highway Patrol troopers arrived on the scene, Clinton tried to flee a second time, running away on foot. A perimeter was set up and a K-9 was brought in.

Clinton was later found hiding inside a trailer and taken into custody.

Court records show Clinton is originally from Yuba City, California. Formal charges are pending an investigation.
