Brigham City man dies while snowmobiling near Perry Reservoir

A 57-year-old Brigham City man died Monday afternoon while snowmobiling near Perry Reservoir.

Box Elder County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Dale Ward said Kent Brian Tanner died of an apparent heart attack around 1:00 p.m.

Deputies, EMS and Box Elder Search and Rescue teams were dispatched to the scene after receiving a call that Tanner had lost consciousness. He wasn’t breathing and the caller had started CPR.

Tanner passed away prior to emergency crews getting to him. They were in a remote region near the Weber/Box Elder County line. Because of the distance, a medical helicopter was paged to the scene to assist Search and Rescue personnel transporting the body out of the area.

Ward said Utah State Medical Examiners will confirm the exact cause of death.
