President Donald Trump has made it clear that he intends to follow through on his hard line immigration and refugee agenda: building a wall between United States and Mexico, for instance, and beefing up deportation efforts.
A Latino who is director of the local Democratic Party’s Latino Caucus, Danny Beus, says he can’t help but feel discouraged.
“I worry about people getting healthcare,” says Beus. “I worry about people being treated equally. Immigration is something that is very important to me and I don’t see logical immigration reform with Donald Trump.”
In fact, Beus says he believes that building a wall is self-destructive but Trump apparently wants to do it as soon as possible. He hopes that Congress will act and will be able to keep Trump from revoking DACA work permits.
