Contestant packets are now available at the Wellsville City Office (75 E. Main) for the 2017 Miss Wellsville Pageant.  The pageant is open to young women ages 16-18 who are high school students residing in Wellsville City proper and Mt. Sterling.

Loosely based on Meghan Trainor’s 2015 song, “Better When I’m Dancin’,” the theme for the 2017 Miss Wellsville Pageant is “I’m better when…”. The theme was chosen to help contestants identify the talents, interests and opportunities that bring them personal satisfaction and help them develop confidence. A video will be shown during the “poise” portion of the competition to share each contestant’s personal reflections on the theme.

The 2017 Miss Wellsville Pageant will take place at Wellsville Elementary School on April 29. A contestant/parent meeting introducing the pageant and its requirements will take place on Feb. 23, at 7:00 p.m. at the Wellsville City Office.

“I love working with the girls and seeing how they develop in such a short time,” said Arianne Spahr, pageant director. “It’s so neat to see where they are when they start in the beginning and then see how much they’ve grown by the end.”

Contestant packets, including a $15 application fee and a head shot, are due on Saturday, March 4, by midnight. They must be dropped off at Spahr’s home, and she may be contacted at (602) 628-7730 for the address.
