The Cache Valley Cowboy Rendezvous

The seventh annual Cache Valley Cowboy Rendezvous has the lineup in place for its upcoming event at Mountain Crest High School. The Hyrum event opens on Friday, March 3, and continues through Sunday, March 5. The final activity, Cowboy Church, is scheduled to be held at the American West Heritage Center’s livery stable on Sunday at 9:00 a.m.

General Chairman Dale Major said entertainment will take place on three different stages and will include poetry contests and a family dance. Various activities have been scheduled to appeal to children, youth and adults. The rendezvous will likewise feature several concerts, with the headliner being a performance by Ned LeDoux, the son of western music legend Chris LeDoux.

“He sounds a lot like his dad,” said Major. “He does a lot of his dad’s songs and also has finished some songs that his dad started to write, as well as written a few of his own. We also have Waddie Mitchell and Don Edwards, who are two very distinguished western entertainers, Waddie being a poet and Edwards being a musician.”

The concert featuring Edwards and Mitchell begins on Saturday, March 4, at 2:00 p.m., with a meet-and-greet for premium ticketholders from noon to 1:00 p.m. The LeDoux concert takes place that evening at 7:00 p.m., with a meet- and-greet for premium ticketholders from 5:00 p.m. until six.

Major said most of the activities at the Cowboy Rendezvous are free, and several educational activities will take place at local schools prior to the weekend rendezvous. More information, including tickets for the Cowboy Opry, the Cowboy Family Dance (featuring Dyer Highway) and both concerts, is available at www.cachevalleycowboyrendezvous.com.
