Search and Rescue called to help injured snowmobiler

LOGAN — Cache County Search and Rescue crews along with paramedics were called out to help an injured snowmobiler Friday afternoon.

Lt. Brian Locke said the 40-year-old man was driving the sled along the Beaver Creek Trail, about three-and-a-half-miles from US-89, when he crashed. The man reportedly injured his back. There were also two children on the sled who were unharmed.

Another snowmobiler found the injured man and rode to the Beaver Creek Lodge to call 911.

Locke said because of the man’s injuries and the remote location of the accident, a medical helicopter was also dispatched to the scene. It transported the man to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Search and Rescue crews helped transport the children out of the area and return them home.
