I hate St. Patrick’s Day. Always have. I wrote about this subject four years ago. Has it really been over four years ago that I have scribed columns for CVD? I think it is time for a raise.

My editor is going to love reading that when he proofreads this column. I doubt I will like his response.

My disdain for the holiday does not come from a place of bigotry against the Irish. I grew up in an Italian neighborhood of South Philadelphia interspersed with Irish neighbors. I lived in an Irish neighborhood later on. I take part in an annual parade back home that consists predominantly of Irish culture. I have dear friends who are Irish. I love the people, their culture, their arts, their rich history and their (earned) stereotype for rampant drinking.

In homage, I have prepared a trivia on All Things Irish. The answers and a legend to determine how much green your blood flows is listed on the bottom the page.

Good luck (of the Irish).
