Rock and Roll concert returning to Cache Valley Cruise-In

Rock and Roll is returning to the Cache County Fair Grounds in 2017. Night Ranger will be performing as part of the Cache Valley Cruise-In on June 30th. The announcement was made exclusively Thursday morning on radio stations Classic Rock 95.9 KLZX and KOOL 103.9.

In previous years, the Cache Valley Cruising Association has brought other rock and roll acts to the valley including The Beach Boys, Styx, America, Pat Benatar, and most recently REO Speedwagon in 2014.

Brandon Douglas, a member of the Cruising Association, was tasked with finding an act to bring this year. Douglas says after two years of not including a concert at the Cruise In people started, “asking us to put (concerts) back on.”

The Cruising Association employed a new concert promoter who Douglas says, “was just very positive and felt we could do it, and keep it affordable.”

When asked why they decided to bring Night Ranger, Douglas jokingly responded, “Because I’m selfish. Night Ranger is my all-time most very favorite band. I always said if I was given the opportunity to be over the concerts I would make sure that they came!”

Night Ranger was founded in San Francisco and enjoyed popularity in the 1980’s. Their first five albums sold over 10 million copies and included the 1984 power ballad hit “Sister Christian.” “Sister Christian” peaked at number five on the U.S. billboard hot 100, and later landed number 32 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Songs of the 1980’s. Other Night Ranger hits include “When You Close Your Eyes,” “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me,” “Rock in America,” and “Sentimental Street.”

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 31st at 2:00 AM on . Tickets can also be purchased at all Lee’s Market Place grocery stores beginning at 8:00 the same morning. It is anticipated that the most coveted floor seats will sell out quickly at $65.00 apiece. Other seats are available for $45.00 and general admission tickets are going for $25.00.

The Cache Valley Cruise-In will be June 29th, June 30th and July 1st at the Cache County Fairgrounds.
