Crews in Box Elder County are battling another wildfire after it was discovered burning Tuesday morning near Promontory.

Box Elder public information officer Mitch Zundel said as of Tuesday afternoon, the Long Ridge Fire had burned 2,100 acres. It is 20% contained.

There are 35 firefighters working the fire and establishing a perimeter around it. They are being assisted by a helicopter that is dropping water on hot spots.

Zundel said there are no structures currently being threatened by the fire. Earler Tuesday though, the fire approached a ranch cabin and barn, but firefighters were able to save it.

The fire was discovered by firefighters as they were mopping up a different fire and noticed the smoke.
