For more than 20 years the name Pat Sadoski has been associated with nursing and she was instrumental in starting programs such as hospice in Cache Valley. Sadoski now has her own private business: Cache Valley Senior Consulting. With her business, she uses her professional knowledge to advocate for senior independence and care for each individual.
Sadoski says her interest is in helping senior navigate safely with the activities they want to do and are able to do. She says her first step is to meet with the client and members of the family.
“We discuss their health concerns, what’s going on with them medically over the years, how mobile they are, whether they are still driving, what medications they are on, what their health needs seem to be,” Sadoski explains. “That is based on a physicians assessment, not my assessment.
“Then we talk about what their goals are, what they want their future to look like, what things are special to them, what kind of things they want to hopefully be able to do.”
Her services might include in-home physical assessment, home environment assessment, caregiver assessment and/or recommendations for late-life relocation. She says it is not unusual for a client to have spent a considerable amount of money on services that were not actually needed at the time.
