RICHMOND — After serving on the Richmond City Council for approximately nine years, Jeff Young became the mayor when the former mayor stepped down last year. Now Young has decided he likes the job and has filed to run for mayor in the upcoming election.
Young said he loves living in Richmond. He loves the people, and he feels like a lot of good things are happening in the community.
“The Cache County School District donated the Park Elementary School building to the city,” he said. “We are in the process of moving the city facilities down to the Park School in Richmond, and so that’s a large project that we’ve been working on as well as we have just negotiated with the Cache County Sheriff’s Office to bring in a full station up in Richmond where they’ll have a supervisor and be able to run a Northern District.”
Young has been active in many Richmond activities throughout the years and has played an important role in the city’s annual Black and White Days celebration.
