LOGAN — The 2017 edition of the Cache County Fair and Rodeo comes with a touch of nostalgia because after 138 years, some changes are planned to the Cache County Fairgrounds before the 2018 event rolls around.

Jill Zollinger, who is both the Cache County Clerk and the Cache County Fair manager, invites everyone to come to the fair on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 10-12. She said some major renovations will hopefully be complete by next year’s fair, including a new events center.

As for this year, Zollinger said the Thursday and Friday schedules are much the same as other years, and the public is encouraged to attend a special commemorative event being added on Saturday.

“On Saturday, they are going to have a program from 11 to 2 that’s going to reflect about the fair and the buildings and just what’s gone on,” Zollinger said, “because this is our 138th year of the fair.”

Zollinger said she hopes everyone will plan to come out and enjoy all of the traditional activities and events at the fair, along with the Saturday program. She is excited about the entertainment being offered to visitors, including daily Chick-fil-A Nugget Eating Contests, a Cache Idol competition and a performance by the iconic musical group Exile. Carnival tickets are available now online and at the Cache County Administration Building, both Cache Valley Macey’s Food and Drug locations, IFA Country Store in North Logan and both Lee’s Marketplace locations.
