More help to find homes for animals in need is coming from the musical-theater community. Members of Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre are holding their 10th annual Musical Paws benefit concert this Sunday, July 30th for Four Paws Rescue, a non-profit animal rescue.
On KVNU’s For the People program on Tuesday, Adam DeSorgo of the festival explained how their organization became involved.
“Well it started off with one of our musicians in the orchestra, who is a cellist. She decided she wanted to adopt a dog through Four Paws. I think they had a picture of the dog at Caffe Ibis or something. She fell in love with the dog and adopted him and decided that she wanted to do something a little bit more to help the organization,” said DeSorgo.
The benefit concert will be held at 3 p.m. at the Utah Theatre at 18 West Center in downtown Logan. A donation of $20 is suggested at the door.
All proceeds go to benefit the companion animals at Four Paws Rescue. The organization aims to rescue dogs and cats from high-kill shelters and place them into adoptive homes.
