From long bike rides to peaches, there are some amazing events going on this weekend throughout Cache Valley and Northern Utah.
One of Utah’s oldest celebrations is in Brigham City this weekend with <a href=”http://www.boxelderchamber.com/peach-days/” target=”_blank”>Peach Days</a>. There’s a Junior Parade Friday at 6 p.m., carnival and classic car show Saturday, the Peach Days Parade is Saturday at 10 a.m., a motorcycle show is on Main Street from 1-5 p.m., and acapella group Voice Male performs a free concert Saturday night at 6. While you’re there, why not take a quick trip down the fruit highway and pick up some fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables.
One of the nation’s premier amateur bike races takes place this weekend with the <a href=”http://lotoja.com/main/index.html” target=”_blank”>LOTOJA Classic</a>, an over 200 mile bike race from Logan to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Hundreds of riders will leave, in waves, Saturday morning beginning at 6 a.m. and head north through Preston on their way to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Good luck to all the riders and support teams!
Did you know that Alzheimer’s is the only major disease that can’t be prevented, cured or slowed? You can help raise funds for research this Saturday at the <a href=”http://act.alz.org/site/TR/Walk2017/UT-Utah?pg=entry&fr_id=10158″ target=”_blank”>Walk to End Alzheimer’s</a>. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at Merlin Olsen Park. Then participants can take a leisurely two mile walk from Merlin Olsen Central Park up to Main Street, around the Tabernacle and then back. It’s a great opportunity to raise funds and make friends with others dealing with this disease.
If you’d like to know more about Cache Valley’s history, then you might want to check out the <a href=”http://cachevalleyhistory.com/images/2017HistoricHomePosterlr.jpg” target=”_blank”>Historic Home Tour</a>. Tour six homes located in the Logan Historic District and in Hyrum. The tour will also feature Elite Hall and the Hyrum City Historic Cabins located on Main Street in Hyrum.
The second annual <a href=”https://www.loganpride.org” target=”_blank”>Logan Pride Festival</a> is Saturday at Willow Park starting at 11. There will be live music, vendor booths, food trucks and a pet adoption zone sponsored by the Cache Humane Society.
The Old Rock Church in Providence is hosting an <a href=”http://oldrockchurch.com/concert-bbq” target=”_blank”>end of summer concert and bbq</a> Friday evening at 7 p.m. Enjoy a pulled pork sandwich while listening to local bluegrass group The Band Down Yonder. Cost is $12 per person.
The newest building, landscaping and design techniques will be on display this weekend with the beginning of the <a href=”http://cvhba.com/parade/” target=”_blank”>Cache Valley Parade of Homes</a>, presented by the Cache Valley Home Builders Association. Tour seven beautiful homes throughout Cache Valley through September 16th.
Then cap off the weekend with an intimate evening with the internationally-recognized Frye Street Quartet at Stokes Nature Center, Saturday at 5:30 p.m. <a href=”http://logannature.org/canyon-concert” target=”_blank”>Reservations are required</a> for the concert in the canyon and hors d’oeuvres prepared by The Italian Place. Cost is $200 per person.
