LOGAN — A 67-year-old Fielding man died early Saturday morning, after the truck he was driving drifted off Valley View Highway and rolled. Earl V. Anderson was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Lee Perry said Anderson was driving a Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck eastbound on SR-30 around 7:20 a.m. Near milepost 101, the truck went off the right side of the road, over corrected and then went off the left side. The truck rolled as it reached a nearby fence.

Emergency crews attempted CPR on Anderson but were unsuccessful.

No other vehicles were involved.  Anderson was the only one in the truck at the time of the accident.

Perry said troopers believe speed may have been a factor in the crash.
