Christmas may seem like a long time from now to a lot of people, but not for those involved with Sub for Santa. Tracy Farmer is chairman of the board for the Cache County Sub for Santa program and she says her group works all year to make sure every child in Cache Valley has a good Christmas.
Farmer says an exciting fundraiser for Sub for Santa is coming up soon.
“We’d like to involve as many people as we possibly can,” explains Farmer, “to bring things they would like to donate to our cause. We will sell them and the proceeds will go to the Cache County Sub for Santa program.
“We are asking everybody to bring their items to the English Language Center on Friday, September 22nd after 5 p.m. Then we will have the yard sale starting at 7 a.m. on Saturday, September 23rd.”
In 2017, Cache County Sub for Santa received almost $85,000 in in-kind gift donations for 765 local children. Farmer says cash donations, however, have gone down over the past few years. The yard sale on September 23rd will help provide cash for the organization, helping it continue to operate and serve local families.
Farmer says she hopes a lot of people will bring their donations and find unique treasures at the sale the next day. For more information, call (435) 713-7092 or (435) 770-1459.
