This week there is a parade (but no floats or marching bands), a long foot race, a race for fun, a buddy walk and the final concert of the season up at Cherry Peak resort.
Concluding this weekend is the Cache Valley Parade of Homes. Kristi Summers, with the Cache Valley Home Builders Association, says there are seven homes from Smithfield to Paradise that showcase the latest building techniques, design trends, and landscaping. Summers says the tour is open Thursday and Friday from Noon to 8 p.m., then on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The homes represent varying incomes and provide a great opportunity for people to tour through beautiful Cache Valley.
Best of luck to all the runners participating in this weekend’s Altra Top of Utah Marathon. Watch for the runners and cheer them on Saturday morning as they run 26.2 miles through Blacksmith Fork Canyon, Nibley, Millville, Providence, River Heights and then concluding at Logan’s Merlin Olsen Central Park.
If you’re in the mood for a concert, Lauren Alaina will be performing 7 p.m. Friday evening at Cherry Peak Resort. Wrap up this year’s concert series with a high energy performance from one of Nashville’s rising stars.
This Saturday is the always-fun Cache County Buddy Walk and 40th Birthday Party. Join the fun for Down Syndrome awareness at the American West Heritage Center. Bounce houses, game booths and fall harvest festivities begin at 10. The walk begins at 11.
The Great Inflatable Race is coming to Utah State University on Saturday. It’s a fun run with inflatable obstacles spread throughout the course. The race starts at 9 a.m. at USU’s Old Main Hill. Feel like a kid again as you jump, slide and bounce on custom-made inflatables. Some of the proceeds benefit the Aggie Recreation Center at USU.
Also on Saturday is the Walk with Someone walk and 5k at Rees Pioneer Park at 800 West Forest Street in Brigham City. It’s a family friendly fundraiser for Suicide Prevention that begins at 4:30 p.m. There will be food, balloon animals, Disney princesses, and live music. All proceeds benefit Suicide Prevention efforts in Brigham City.
