It’s the Weekend – 10/12/17

Whether you’re in the mood for theater, sports, parades or something to celebrate Friday the 13th, we’ve got you covered this weekend.

Starting Thursday and running through next Tuesday, Music Theater West presents <a href=”” target=”_blank”>“Fiddler on the Roof”</a> at the Ellen Eccles Theatre. Don’t miss one of Broadway’s greatest musicals. <a href=”″ target=”_blank”>Performances</a> begin at 7:30 each evening.

The musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic tale Oliver Twist continues at the Old Barn Community Theatre in Collinston. Performances of <a href=”” target=”_blank”>”Oliver!”</a> are this Friday and Saturday and continue through October 21st. 

A basketball tradition continues Thursday night at the Utah State University Spectrum with <a href=”” target=”_blank”>Primetime Madness</a>. Get the first look at both the <a href=”” target=”_blank”>USU men’s</a> and women’s basketball teams as they prepare for the upcoming season. Primetime Madness begins at 7 p.m. and is totally free. Athletes will be available at the conclusion of the scrimmage for autographs.

If you’re superstitious, you might want to celebrate Friday the 13th by visiting a <a href=”” target=”_blank”>corn maze</a> or the <a href=”” target=”_blank”>Haunted Hollow</a> at the American West Heritage Center.

Or, you can pull out your favorite witchy attire, lace up your dancing shoes and party like the undead at <a href=”” target=”_blank”>“Where’s My Witches At?”</a> It’s a ladies-only dance party at the Whittier Community Center from 8-11 p.m. on Friday, October 13. Your ticket includes dinner, gourmet dessert and a specialty soda bar. There will be door prizes and a portion of every ticket supports <a href=”” target=”_blank”>CAPSA</a>. 

Also on Friday is the <a href=”” target=”_blank”>Masquerade Roll</a>. Ride through town starting at 5:30 p.m. beginning at Crumb Brothers. Come dressed in your best masquerade outfit to make it a ride to remember. Then, there will be a big after party back at Crumb Brothers with food, dancing, music and more. All proceeds go to support <a href=”” target=”_blank”>Bridger Bike Park</a>.

Family reunions are great, right? How about one giant Aggie Family Reunion?! It’s <a href=”” target=”_blank”>Homecoming Week for USU</a> and all Aggies are invited to bring the whole family to the <a href=”,-111.8154007,17z/data=!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0x0:0x0!2zNDHCsDQ0JzIxLjIiTiAxMTHCsDQ4JzUzLjUiVw!3b1!8m2!3d41.7392227!4d-111.8148521!3m4!1s0x0:0x5d7d3fd7010a4179!8m2!3d41.7452429!4d-111.813494″ target=”_blank”>Aggie Recreation Center</a> Friday from 6-8 p.m. There will be food, entertainment and lots of fun.

If you’re not a True Aggie yet, Friday night is True Aggie Night at the block A on the Quad. So if you’re not a True Aggie yet, Friday night at Midnight is your chance!

The Homecoming festivities continue Saturday with a <a href=”” target=”_blank”>Homecoming 5K</a> at 9 a.m. beginning at the USU Welcome Center and ending at the Logan Tabernacle.

Then the USU Homecoming Parade begins at 10 a.m. down Logan’s Main Street. It stretches from 100 South up to 700 North.

Then the Aggies take on conference rival Wyoming on Merlin Olsen Field Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is at 2:30, but if you can’t make it to the game you can watch it on <a href=”” target=”_blank”></a>.

Saturday is the last day of the <a href=”” target=”_blank”>25th Street Market in North Logan</a> and it will be filled with <a href=”;sections=all&amp;date=today” target=”_blank”>pumpkin-themed activities</a>, like pumpkin ring toss, pumpkin relay, Angry Bird pumpkins and Knock Humpty Pumpky off the Wall. Pumpkin Day goes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Legacy House of Logan is hosting a <a href=”” target=”_blank”>Fall Boutique</a> Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is free to attend and door prizes will be given out throughout the day. You’ll find home decor, gift ideas, and holiday decorations.
