LOGAN — Deputies have arrested three people accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl. Jesus Diaz-Orozco, Lemuel Del Valle Morales and Eva Flores were all booked into the Cache County Jail Wednesday night.
The three were arraigned in 1st District Court Thursday afternoon, each appearing separately by video from the jail.
Deputies allege that Orozco and Morales sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl back in June. Orozco then raped the girl again in July. The suspects reportedly knew the victim prior to the assaults.
Prosecutors have charged Orozco with two counts of forcible sodomy and two counts of rape, all first-degree felonies, along with three counts of sexual abuse of a minor, a third-degree felony and three misdemeanors for drug possession.
During Thursday’s arraignment, Judge Brian Cannell told Orozco, due to the extreme nature of the charges, he was setting bail at $250,000. He also ordered the 19-year-old man to have no contact with the other suspects or victim, if he was able to post bail.
Prosecutors have charged the second suspect, Morales, with one count of sexual abuse of a minor, a third-degree felony.
While being arraigned, state attorney Barbara Lachmar said Morales recently moved to the area from Puerto Rico and could be a flight risk. She told the court the 24-year-old already has two criminal cases pending against him, and might flee the area if released on bail.
Judge Cannell increased Morales bail to $7,500 and also ordered him not contact the victim or other suspects.
Flores has been charged with three counts of sexual abuse of a minor, a third-degree felony. Prosecutors allege that the 18-year-old woman knowingly encouraged the victim to have sex with the other suspects. She is being held on $5,000 bail.
The two men and one woman were all ordered to appear again in court next week.
