Caregivers are literally the backbone of many services and resources. They are often family members, often working with limited financial and time resources. It is many times a high-stress way of life. The Cache County Caregiver Coalition has put together a series of events this year and one is happening Friday as an early kickoff for November, which is National Caregiver Appreciation Month.
At 4 p.m. at the Cache County Senior Center Dr. Takiki May will speak on the topic “Crucial Conversations for Getting the Care You Want” then Lisa and Nick Cornwell of NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, will present “Communication Skills and Self Care for Family Members.”
A free dinner will follow at 5 p.m. Then at 6 p.m. there will be repeats of the first two presentations along with a presentation by Paul Newman on “Caregiving Coping During the Holidays.” Anyone caring for a friend or family member is invited. <span class=”_4n-j _3cht fsl” data-testid=”event-permalink-details”>For information call (435) 755-1720.</span>
