It’s the Weekend – 11/2/17

From conferences, to musicals, to sporting events there is a variety of activities to keep you busy this weekend in Cache Valley.

The American Mothers of Cache Valley present the 28th annual <a href=”” target=”_blank”>Home of the Brave</a> family conference Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Logan Tabernacle. It features special guest Matt Townsend, the Cache Community Band and The Benson Sisters. There’s no cost to attend.

On Friday, Global Village Gifts will unveil their newest collection of <a href=”” target=”_blank”>fair trade nativities</a> and holiday decor from around the world. Live music, prize drawings and the event goes from 6-9 p.m. at 69 East 100 North in Logan.

It’s the final weekend for the broadway musical <a href=”” target=”_blank”>Jekyll and Hyde</a> at the Ellen Eccles Theatre. There will be a Friday performance at 7:30, a Saturday matinee at 1:30 p.m., then one final performance Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.

The USU men’s and women’s basketball teams have exhibition games this weekend: the <a href=”” target=”_blank”>men play Friday</a> night at 7 and the <a href=”” target=”_blank”>women play Saturday</a> afternoon at 2. Both games are at the USU Spectrum.

If you’re a female and have ever been curious about getting involved in politics, you should attend the <a href=”;b=9537351&amp;en=6pIBILOnH3JBLQNEJgLFKUOBLkJPKSNBJgKJLRMpG8IGJUOAJeJHLWMMG” target=”_blank”>Real Women Run</a> event this Saturday. It’s a non-partisan training event from 8:30-2 at the Huntsman Hall Perry Pavilion at Utah State. It costs $25 and that does include a lunch.

<a href=”” target=”_blank”>Light up the Night</a> at this year’s 20th annual gala for Stokes Nature Center. The celebration begins Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Logan Golf and Country Club. It includes a dinner, an auction, and a special announcement.

Also this Saturday is the Community Nursing Services <a href=”” target=”_blank”>‘Senior Wish Program’</a> benefit dinner and auction. It begins at 6 p.m. at The Grove at Coppermill restaurant. All proceeds provide Senior Wish experiences for Cache and Box Elder CNS patients.

The <a href=”” target=”_blank”>Vineyards at Mount Naomi Farms</a> is hosting an open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. There will be giveaways and drawings at this reception and event center located at 1200 East 4500 North in Hyde Park.

Buying a home for the first time? A <a href=”” target=”_blank”>home ownership workshop</a> is being held at the Logan Library in the Bonneville Room on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It’s a free workshop that will feature presentations from multiple professionals that deal with various aspects of the home-buying process.

On Sunday, Cindy Kern will be speaking at the Logan Tabernacle on <a href=”” target=”_blank”>“The Role of Virtue, Self-Interest and Religion in Our Republic”</a>. Admission is free and the event begins at 6 p.m.

And actually on Monday, take your family on a prehistoric journey at the Ellen Eccles Theatre with <a href=”” target=”_blank”>ERTH’S DINOSAUR ZOO LIVE</a>. It’s an imaginative production that brings giant, ancient creatures to life through master puppetry in a zoo-style performance.
