Humane Society Benefit Brunch and Auction this weekend

It’s a big fundraiser every year for the Cache Humane Society. Their benefit brunch and auction is this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. On KVNU’s For the People program on Thursday, our guest was Stacie Frisk who told us about this year’s program.

“Our biggest fundraising event of the year is this Sunday happening at the fantastic Logan Country Club, up near the Utah State campus. It’s (at) 11 a.m., it is a brunch, a fantastic catered meal by Justin Hamilton…some really exciting auction items on both the silent and live auction. And just some really wonderful live music performances and this year we actually have some magic,” according to Frisk.

The magic is provided by well-known local magician Richard Hatch. They would like to have a firm count by Saturday, according to Frisk. The Cache Humane Society is involved in many projects throughout the year including their Spay and Neuter Clinics. Recently the organization was involved in a major cat rescue.

“That was an exciting day for us,” Frisk said. “We received some communication from some people who were hoping to start a cat rescue here in Cache County. The word had kind of gotten out that they were willing to take in cats and hopefully get them fixed and find them new homes.

“Because we have so many cats in this valley looking for placement, they kind of ended up growing much faster than they expected.”

Frisk said they were able to partner with that group and get over 100 cats vaccinated and fixed that day.

She said they have so many dogs and cats who desperately need foster homes. At times its animals with a nursing litter who need to be safely housed outside the facility. Residents interested in helping can call (435) 792-3920.
