LOGAN – Cache County Council Chairman Greg Merrill said a lot of good things happened in the county during 2017, but that the year didn’t have a great start.
There was major flooding early in the year, and Merrill said most of those involved are optimistic the county will be compensated by various federal programs for most of the damage, which totaled more than $3 million.
“We have also tried to minimize any dollar amount that we spend by providing services,” he said. “Whether it be the trucks or the personnel or the road department that are working to repair these roads, and we are able to use those services rather than dollar amounts in many instances to be able to get 100 percent of the projects completed.”
He said the county employees were able to do much of the work which saved a considerable amount of money as well.
Merrill said the area the county has been falling behind the most is with road projects. He said maintain the roads is very expensive.
