
This weekend has a little bit of everything, from Teddy Bears, to princesses to racing down Beaver Mountain.

But first, on Thursday, a <a href=”http://www.cachevalleydaily.com/calendar/event_e417cf18-eacf-11e7-aa46-73b906731d4a.html” target=”_blank”>cancer benefit concert</a> for the Sackett Family will be held at Birch Creek Golf Course from 6-9 p.m. Cost is $25 and there will be live music and food.
<a href=”https://www.facebook.com/events/1659621480761576/?event_time_id=1659621484094909″ target=”_blank”>InTech Collegiate High School</a> is conducting an information session and tours of its school for those interested in possibly applying for the 2018-19 school year. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Friday is a big night for USU Hockey as it’s their <a href=”https://www.facebook.com/events/1267113216723980/” target=”_blank”>Teddy Bear Toss</a> and they host in-state rival BYU at the Eccles Ice Center. Everyone who attends is invited to bring a teddy bear, or any other kind of stuffed animal, and they will be able to throw them onto the ice after USU’s first goal of the game. The toys will be gathered up and donated to local charities which help children. After the game, <a href=”https://www.facebook.com/events/146412936062019/” target=”_blank”>skate with the team</a> from 10:15-11:30 p.m.
Also on Friday night, <a href=”http://www.cachevalleydaily.com/calendar/event_fb167ea2-f9b7-11e7-9936-ef6b38da084b.html” target=”_blank”>USU Gymnastics</a> has its first home meet of the season as they host San Jose State and Sacramento State in the USU Spectrum. The meet begins at 7 p.m. and USU students get FREE BACON!
<a href=”http://www.cachevalleydaily.com/calendar/event_3c1f6538-fb45-11e7-8503-5f8efb9b89e1.html” target=”_blank”>Nordic United</a> is hosting its annual fundraiser Friday at the Logan River Golf Course. Nordic United is a non-profit organization that aims to promote and provide non-motorized recreation opportunities in Cache Valley. There will be light appetizers, beverages and live music beginning at 6:30 p.m.
All princes and princesses are invited to attend a two-hour <a href=”https://www.facebook.com/events/347164729091445/” target=”_blank”>Princess Party</a> at Castle Manor in Hyde Park on Saturday. One session goes from 10 to Noon, and the other is from 1:30-3:30 p.m. There are crafts and activities for children ages 5-12 years old, a variety of princesses will be in attendance, and it’s a fundraiser for The Family Place.
Are you a skier? Maybe a snowboarder? If you’re fast on either one you should race in this Saturday’s <a href=”https://www.facebook.com/events/573871592965301/” target=”_blank”>“Dew the Mountain” at Beaver Mountain</a>. Races down Tiny Tim begin at 10 a.m. but you need to be registered before 9:45. There are different divisions with chances to win cool prizes.
The <a href=”http://www.cachevalleydaily.com/calendar/event_1ead0bf0-f437-11e7-8650-c781b4990842.html” target=”_blank”>Bridgerland Back Country Horsemen</a> are sponsoring their winter social with live entertainment and a chuckwagon dinner on Saturday. It starts at 6:30 p.m. at Canyon Elementary School in Hyrum. It’s a non-profit organization which strives to keep the backcountry open for all uses.
Saturday afternoon Logan, Utah will join with hundreds of communities all over the country in promoting equality and justice for all people with a <a href=”https://www.facebook.com/events/1546476632102066/” target=”_blank”>Woman’s March</a>. A poster-making party will held in the Bonneville Room of the Logan Library from 1-2:30 then the group will march down Logan’s Main Street. There will also be a variety of notable guest speakers who will make presentations, including Jenny Wilson (candidate for U.S. Senate), Star Coulbrooke (Logan Poet Laureate), Christy Glass (Professor of Sociology and organizer of Real Women Run, speaking The Power of Women in Leadership) and others.

It starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, there will be a track there to test your cars, a Derby team to show you how to make your cars go faster, and there will be food and drink available.
