New Cache County Council chair discusses goals

LOGAN – The new year meant a new chairman for the Cache County Council as Council Member David Erickson was selected to replace outgoing chairman Greg Merrill.

As chairman, Erickson has two major goals. The first is to make the completion of a new county events center a truly momentous occasion that will merit a celebration.

“The number two goal was to refine the budget process,” Erickson said. “Develop a more-defined scope and sequence with some definite dates and deadlines and start the process earlier, finish earlier, so we’re not feeling so pressured to get things done last minute.”

One other goal for Erickson is to spread the RAPZ Tax out a little more to reflect a larger part of the valley.

Erickson is an FFA teacher at Sky View High School and also operates his own farm.
