Family pops concert features special guest Take 6

The American Festival Chorus, under the direction of Dr. Craig Jessop, will present “Music Has No Passport” family pops concert with special guest Take 6. The concert is scheduled for Saturday, February 10th at 7:30 p.m. at the Newel and Jean Daines Concert Hall in Utah State University’s Chase Fine Arts Center.

Jessop says interwoven with songs by Take 6, the choir will perform many pops favorites including “When You Wish Upon a Star,” “Climb Every Mountain,” and “Circle of Life.”

“This is a bit of a change from our published schedule that we put out last fall. Originally scheduled was Alex Boye who was to join us. But Alex was given an incredible invitation to perform at the Winter Olympic Games at (Pyeongchang, South) Korea.

“He called and said, ‘Craig, this is a once in a lifetime event. I have to be there by the 8th of February. Would you Take a rain check?’ And I said, ‘absolutely!'”

Jessop said “Music Has No Passport” will showcase the talents of Take 6 who had the honor of being the first American vocal group to perform in Cuba since diplomatic relations were restored.
