It’s the Weekend – February 15, 2018

From musicals to live music, getting out in nature to supporting habitats in nature, and a special salute to service are all taking place this weekend in Cache Valley.

Utah State University’s Center for Women and Gender presents <a href=”” target=”_blank”>”The Intersection of Arts and Social Justice”</a> with Angela Davis. The free event is Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the USU Spectrum. Through her activism and scholarship over many decades, Dr. Angela Davis has been deeply involved in promoting social justice.

Sky High Players presents Rodgers &amp; Hammerstein’s <a href=”” target=”_blank”>“Cinderella”</a> Thursday night at 7 p.m. with other performances Saturday at 1 p.m. &amp; 7 p.m. all at Sky View High School.

Pickleville Playhouse presents the hit musical <a href=”” target=”_blank”>“Forever Plaid.”</a> Performances continue Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Ellen Eccles Theatre.

We’re not the only animals with sweethearts! Track down wild animals that roam the winter landscape of Logan Canyon with the annual <a href=”” target=”_blank”>Sweetheart Snowshoe</a>. Meet at First Dam parking lot at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Registration is required, but a sweetheart is not.

You can learn about a new alternative in Utah politics on Saturday. The United Utah Party is a moderate party and they’re hosting a <a href=”” target=”_blank”>community meeting</a> Saturday at 11 a.m. The event will take place at the Whittier Community Center in Logan.

<a href=”” target=”_blank”>USU men’s basketball</a> hosts defending Mountain West champions Nevada in the Spectrum Saturday at 4 p.m. Fans can purchase or donate their unused tickets for the game as part of USU’s Salute to Service campaign that will benefit military personnel, first responders and their families.

The annual <a href=”” target=”_blank”>banquet for the Bear River Mule Deer Foundation</a> is Saturday at the Riverwoods Conference Center. There will be dinner, games, live and silent auctions, all in an effort to raise funds to protect mule deer habitat around Logan.

Or if you’re in the mood for live music, both <a href=”” target=”_blank”>The Cache</a> and <a href=”” target=”_blank”>WhySound</a> will be featuring live performances Saturday night in downtown Logan. Vann Moon will be performing at 6:30 p.m. at WhySound. Come dressed in your Hollywood best if you plan on going to the Rainbow Ball at The Cache.
