HAS ISSUED A BACKCOUNTRY AVALANCHE WARNING…

* TIMING…IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM MST THIS MORNING UNTIL 6 AM MST

SATURDAY.

* LOCATION…WEST CENTRAL IDAHO MOUNTAINS AND SURROUNDING AREAS.

* AVALANCHE DANGER…THE AVALANCHE DANGER SCALE IN THE WEST

CENTRAL IDAHO MOUNTAINS…INCLUDING THE PAYETTE NATIONAL

FOREST…MAY APPROACH HIGH HAZARD IN SOME AREAS TODAY. NATURAL

AVALANCHES ARE LIKELY AND HUMAN TRIGGERED AVALANCHES WILL BE

VERY LIKELY.

* REASON…RECENT HEAVY SNOW AND HIGH WINDS HAVE PRODUCED

WIDESPREAD AREAS OF UNSTABLE SNOW.
