URGENT – WEATHER MESSAGE

…WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MST THIS EVENING…

* AFFECTED AREA…West Central and Southwest Utah.

* WINDS…South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts in excess of 50

mph.

* TIMING…Winds will remain strong and gusty into this evening.

* IMPACTS…Strong crosswinds can be expected along all east-

west oriented routes including US Highway 50, which will make

high profile vehicles difficult to handle. Visibilities may be

reduced at times in blowing dust.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of at least

31 mph or gusts of 45 mph are expected. Motorists in the advisory

area should be prepared for sudden gusty cross winds which can

make driving difficult.

* IMPACTS…Strong crosswinds can be expected along all east-

west oriented routes including US Highway 89, which will make

high profile vehicles difficult to handle. Visibilities may be

reduced at times in blowing dust. Boating on Lake Powell will

become hazardous.
