URGENT – WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

.A strong area of low pressure will track into eastern South
Dakota tonight and Monday. The heaviest snow will fall across
central South Dakota. Upslope enhanced snow is expected over the
northern Black Hills.
Very strong winds will occur on the plains of western South
Dakota late tonight and on Monday, with gusts of 55 to 65 mph
likely. The combination of snow and strong winds will produce
blizzard conditions in some areas.
…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS
EVENING TO 5 PM MST MONDAY…
* WHAT…Snow is expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4
inches, with localized amounts up to 6 inches over the highest
* WHERE…In Wyoming, the Wyoming Black Hills. In South Dakota,
the Northern Black Hills.
* WHEN…From 11 PM this evening to 5 PM MST Monday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Plan on slippery road conditions,
including during the morning commute on Monday. In addition,
significant reductions in visibility are likely. Tree branches
could fall. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph will cause
widespread blowing and drifting snow.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means snow accumulations will
create hazardous conditions. Use caution when traveling. The
