…Snow continues tonight through Friday evening across the

central mountains and Sawtooth Recreation Area…

Snow will increase tonight and early Friday morning across the

Sawtooth Mountains. Above 8000 feet elevation, expect 4 to 9

inches of snow. Below 8000 feet, accumulation will range anywhere

from a trace to 4 inches. Westerly wind gusts up to 40 mph can be

expected mainly above 9000 feet elevation. Clearing from the west

is expected by midnight Friday night. Travel may be difficult

mainly through Galena and Banner Summits.

Snow will accumulate 3 to 7 inches above 7000 feet elevation

tonight through Friday evening. The heaviest snow fall will

develop after midnight tonight and continue during the day Friday.

A trace to 3 inches of snow is expected below 7000 feet elevation.

Winds may gust to about 30 mph over higher elevations and a few

open areas, contributing to some local drift of snow. Snow will

end early Saturday morning.
