
HYRUM – Deputies have arrested a South Cache Middle School teacher, accused of seducing a student electronically. Duane Behrmann was booked Wednesday morning into the Cache County Jail. The 51-year-old Logan man is being held on $130,000 bail.
Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Locke said detectives received information of an inappropriate relationship between the teacher and a student at the middle school. Behrmann was questioned and later booked on 13 counts of enticing a minor, a second-degree felony.
Cache County School District spokesman, Tim Smith said Behrmann has taught social studies at the middle school since 2009. He has been placed on administrative leave, while officials pursue all aspects of due process, as far as his employment with the district.
Locke said there is no indication of any other victims, but an investigation is continuing.
Smith explained, school officials were not aware of any complaint until deputies arrived at the school to investigate and arrest Behrmann.
