Preston man dies in two-vehicle crash

A 72-year-old Preston man died Friday after the truck he was driving hit a tractor near Terreton, Idaho. Dennis Clark was pronounced dead at the scene, just before noon.

Idaho State Police report Clark was driving a 2007 Dodge pickup, pulling a horse trailer. The truck was westbound on State Highway 33. Near milepost 50, a farm tractor was pulling a trailer loaded with hay.

According to reports, the Dodge pickup collided with the tractor, as it was attempting a left turn into a nearby field.

Officers said Clark and his 26-year-old passenger, Bracken Atkinson also from Preston, were injured. Clark succumbed to his injuries on scene. Atkinson was taken by air ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. It is unknown if either men were wearing seat belts.

The driver of the tractor, 26-year-old Larry Garner was uninjured.

Police blocked both lanes for approximately 3.5 hours while they investigated and cleared the crash. There were no horses in the horse trailer.
