Hundreds of cars of every color and every style will be cruising around Cache Valley this week because the owners are attending the 2018 gathering of the Cache Valley Cruise-In Association. Club President Brandon Douglas says he joined the group about eight years ago when he married his wife. Since then, he says, it has been an exciting experience.
There are different events each day this week and on Saturday the cars will be on view together at the Cache County Fairgrounds where a drawing for this year’s giveaway car will take place. Douglas says he loves this year’s car and doesn’t want to give it away.
“It’s a 1967 Chevy Nova,” Douglas explains. “It’s black, it’s shiny, it’s an eye-catcher. When you drive it down the road people pull up to you and don’t continue down the road.
“They drive next to you just checking the car out. It’s got a good sound to it. It’s just fun to drive.”
Tickets for the car show are $10 each and the drawing will happen Saturday at 6 p.m. Douglas reminds people that they must be present to win.
The annual car event will once again feature a live concert in the rodeo grounds. This year’s entertainment will be the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band on Friday, July 6th.
He invites the public to come down to the fairgrounds to see the cars and attend the various activities which begin on Thursday and end with the annual parade down Logan’s Main Street at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
