Logan City Light & Power asks for assistance during this hot summer

Because of demand on the power grid in the Western United States, the cost of power is 10 times higher during the peak demand hours of 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Logan City Light & Power would like to encourage Logan residents to help reduce power consumption by adjusting their thermostats to 78 degrees (which is a comfortable temperature for most people). They say this will greatly reduce demand during this critical time.

According to a press release, the city said while they have the ability in their rates to recover this high cost of power from customers, if enough people cooperate, that will keep them from having to pass increased rates to Logan residents.
