It’s the Weekend – September 6-9, 2018

The biggest bike race of the year is this weekend and Brigham City pulls out all the stops with its annual Peach Days celebration. We’ve got all the details on these activities and a lot more in our latest edition of “It’s the Weekend!”

Peach Days

Over 30,000 people are expected to attend Brigham City’s Peach Days Festival this weekend. It features a classic car show, motorcycle show, carnival, parades, and of course a wide variety of delightful peach dishes to eat. Most festivities are available from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

LOTOJA

The other big event taking place this weekend is LOTOJA. Now in its 36th year, the Logan to Jackson Hole bike race is the biggest in Cache Valley. Cyclists begin their trek Saturday morning at 6 a.m. through Cache Valley, over to Montpelier, Idaho then all the way to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Best of luck to the riders and their support crews.

Neighborhood Housing Solutions Open House

Celebrate the completion of the 400th home in the owner-builder program from Neighborhood Housing Solutions. The recognition ceremony is Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Hyrum Civic Center and will feature Utah Lt. Governor Spencer Cox who will be the keynote speaker. An open house with free food will follow at the Mountain View subdivision at 1330 East 600 South in Hyrum from 3:30-6:30 p.m.

Canvas Under the Stars

Enjoy a gala dinner and auction at Beaver Mountain Thursday starting at 5:30 p.m. at Canvas Under the Stars. It’s an opportunity to raise money for adaptive outdoor recreation and celebrate Common Ground Outdoor Adventure’s 25th anniversary. Lt. Governor Spencer Cox will also make an appearance at this event.

Fall Harvest Festival

The Elite Hall Restoration Committee is hosting the Fall Harvest Festival Saturday. It’s a dinner and dance at Hyrum’s Elite Hall with dinner at 5:30, and Harvest Hoedown starting at 7:30.

Farm to Table Banquet

The Cache Valley Gardener’s Market hosts their annual Farm to Table banquet this Saturday. This year the catered meal, with locally-sourced food, will be at the new Cache County Events Center and it starts at 6 p.m.

USU Football

Or cap off your weekend with the Utah State football home opener as the Aggies host New Mexico State. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
