Cache officials thinking about expanding rodeo seating

The Cache Valley Rodeo has not lost money since Lamont Poulson to the reins in 2001.

Once again the Cache County Fair was a highlight of the summer and to LaMont Poulsen, who has worked on the fair for many years. Poulsen said the rodeo this year also got excellent reviews.

All the rodeo tickets were sold and Poulsen told the Cache County Council this week that he hopes a way can be found where more people can attend by next year.

“We did sell out. Bart Esplin and I have met with a bleacher company just to entertain some possibilities there,” Poulsen explained. “What we might really want to do would be very expensive.

“There is an area over there, one I would kind of like but we’re waiting for a price, would be coming off the grand stands on the west, on the covered side, go up five more rows, come around, and over the track so it covers that corner.”

He thanked everyone who donated or contributed in any way to the success of this year’s fair and rodeo.
