Downtown Logan will host its first-ever Logan Tree Lighting Festival at the Logan Tabernacle this weekend. The Logan Downtown Alliance is the co-sponsor of the event and is inviting the community to come to the Logan Tabernacle for an event that will feature more than just flipping a switch.
Santa will arrive on a bright red fire engine, courtesy of the Logan Fire Department. While he’s there, children can write letters and visit with Santa. Free hot chocolate, cookies and waffle bites will be available. Carolers and other entertainment will be available just outside the Logan Tabernacle. The lighting ceremony will last from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Following the lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. will be a free concert in the Tabernacle by the Cache Homeschool Choir. They will present “Peace at Christmastime”. The choir consists of 30 children and youth, ages 8 to 17, and will present carols sung in Italian, German, and Latin.
There will also be giant candy ornaments displayed in the recently-remodeled windows of Bluebird Candy Company at 75 West Center from 5:30-8 p.m.
