LOGAN — Police have released the identity of the man who was killed Sunday afternoon when the SUV he was driving was hit head-on by another vehicle in south Logan. The victim, 29-year-old Logan resident Devin Seamons, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near 2230 South US-89/91.
Police report Seamons was driving his wife Jordan and infant daughter Lyla in a white SUV southbound around 1:30 p.m. At the same time, a gray SUV was traveling northbound and crossed the median, striking Seamon’s vehicle and causing it to roll.
Logan City Police Capt. Curtis Hooley said the driver of the gray SUV was Roshaunda Burns. She is a 19-year-old woman currently living in Salt Lake City.
Investigators believe Burns fell asleep at the wheel and crossed over into oncoming traffic. She and the four passengers in her vehicle were all transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Jordan Seamons and her daughter Lyla were also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to family members, Devin Seamons worked at Casper’s Ice Cream. The three were traveling to Salt Lake for a family Christmas party prior to the crash. A Gofundme account has been started to help the family.
Police report their investigation is being turned over to the Cache County Attorney’s Office to determine what charges may be filed against Burns.
