Nuts For You moving from Preston

Nuts For You was founded in January 1997 by Randy Taylor, Katrina’s late husband. Beginning with a few local convenience stores he expanded until he got into Maverick stores. The company currently services 1,000 stores on a regular basis.

Nuts For You is closing its Preston location and moving to Ogden. They will have a satellite location in Adventure Video, where locals can purchase the complete line of nut and chocolate products, as well as gift trays, tins, and basket products, said owner Katrina Taylor.

“We have declining sales and workforce in our Preston store,” she said. “The rent will be less expensive and we are merging with a business that complements ours.”

Nuts For You was founded in January 1997 by Randy Taylor, Katrina’s late husband. He worked hard to develop a business, starting in a few local convenience stores and expanding until he got into Maverik convenience stores.

The company currently services 1,000 stores on a regular basis.

“Our operation in Ogden won’t a have retail store,” Taylor said. “We will continue to supply our products online, and will continue our conference sale twice a year.”

She said she was really sorry to be leaving the Preston area.

“People have been really supportive, they are a good-hearted, decent people,” Taylor said. “I mulled it over for about a year and felt like it was the right thing to do.”

She said Randy lived there for 30 years and was in business for 22 years. She is trying to keep what he built going.

“I was the manager for six years and it is such a large undertaking,” she said. “We can’t continue to grow where we are at, we have to move to grow.”

Her son, Hunter Lyells, is also working at the facility.

Our business has become very competitive, and in order for us to be successful we have to move,” she said. “It was a difficult decision, but in order for us to continue to grow and provide a quality product, we need make some changes.”
