The annual Health Days in Smithfield kicks off May 6 with a full slate of family-oriented activities for the community.
The first event of the week is the Stratford Loosle Young Musicians Competition held in the Sky View High School Auditorium on Monday at 7 p.m.
“It is a fun event,” according to recreation coordinator Richard Varela. “We get a little bit of everything.”
Performances range from solo vocalists and string instruments to piano and ensembles.
Many of the traditional events are back including the family bike ride, charity golf tournament and fun run.
Activities on Saturday, May 11, begin bright and early with a pancake breakfast, mid-morning parade and fireworks in the evening.
“It’s going to be a jam-packed day,” Varela said. “The main focus is to bring families together and bring groups in our community together.”
“We try to design programs for everyone with the overarching theme of being healthy, getting out and being active,” he said.
Everyone is invited. For more information visit www.smithfieldrecreation.com.
