It’s going to cost more to bury a loved one at the Logan Cemetery.
Logan City Council members Tuesday night approved an increase in fees at the cemetery, beginning July 1, 2019.
The fee for the purchase of a burial space is going up roughly 24% from $606 to $750.
It will continue to be almost twice as expensive to bury someone on the weekend. The new fee on weekdays will be $625 for a burial – it will jump to $1,200 on a Saturday.
Other services at the cemetery, including cremation and the installation of a headstone will also increase.
U.S. Military Veterans will receive a reduced fee for a number of burial services.
The cemetery is owned and operated by the City of Logan and maintained by the Parks and Recreation Department.
City leaders say they needed to raise fees in an effort to adequately continue operating and maintaining the grounds.
