Pleasy Ellen Lewis Winborg

May 22, 1937 – May 30, 2019

Pleasy Ellen Lewis Winborg, age 82, passed away at her home at Terrace Gove in Logan, Utah on May 30, 2019. She was born on May 22, 1937 to Elvin and Angie Lewis of Tabiona, Utah. She is the 6th of 10 children- 2 Boys and 8 Girls.

She has always loved life. At a young age, she learned how to work hard on the farm with her dad, brothers and sisters. Milking cows, feeding bummer lambs (sometimes feeding up to 4 at one time), hauling hay and helping her mom bake in the kitchen were everyday chores of living on the ranch. She loved riding horses all over Tabby Mountain and being with her family.

In high school, she enjoyed playing the clarinet in the marching band, being a cheerleader, and has continued to be everyone’s cheerleader throughout her life. After graduating Tabiona High (1 of 7 in the class of 1955) she attended Utah State for one year then cosmetology school at Hollywood Beauty College, she worked at Artistic Beauty Salon. Doing hair for family and friends brought her joy.

While attending USU she met her sweetheart George Hovey Winborg. They married on August 18, 1962 in Logan, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

They made their home in Millville, Utah where they raised their 4 children. Hard work, honesty, kindness to others and dedication to family was their motto.

Pleasy has lovingly supported her children and grandchildren in everything whether it be marching band, music recitals, sports events, ballet, competitive cheer, missions and military services.

Some of Pleasy’s favorite things were crocheting anything and everything, crafts of all kinds, attending the Lewis family reunions in Tabiona, being a member of the Millets of Millville, butter cream mints, BINGO at Terrace Grove on Thursdays, making new friends, especially cheering on the Utah Jazz and making sure everyone knew when the games are on.

Pleasy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all throughout her life. She loved our Savior Jesus Christ and shared her testimony by her example. She gave her time willingly to serve in all areas of the church. She enjoyed serving for 15 years as nursery leader with George, and most recently the music chorister for the last 7 or more years at Terrace Grove branch.

In 2010 George and Pleasy moved from their home and friends of 40 years in Millville to Terrace Grove assisted Living in Logan, Utah .

After George passed away in 2011 she continued to live at Terrace Grove. She adopted the residents, staff members and volunteers into her family and cherished every day.

She is survived by her children Laurie (Darwin) Kitchen of Providence, Utah; Grant (Kim) Winborg of Millville, Utah; Gary (Chirley) Winborg, Eagle River, Alaska, Angie (Robert) Kemp of Taylorsville, Utah, her 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren with 1 more on the way in October: 1 brother Glen (Nadine) Lewis, Tabiona, Utah, sister Angeline (Fred) Evans, brothers-in-law Basil Defa and Paul Price, and many nieces and nephews all of whom she loved dearly.  We feel comforted in knowing that she was greeted by many loved ones who preceded her in death.
