It is the middle of “construction season” for Cache Valley residents

“There are two seasons in Cache Valley,” joked Public Works Director Paul Lindhardt during Tuesday night’s Logan City Council meeting, “winter and construction season.”

“This is an update on everything that will frustrate you this summer,” said Lindhardt, as he outlined current and future projects to council members.

Utah Department of Transportation projects include:

Road resurfacing – 400 N. from Main St. to the mouth of Logan Canyon.

Road resurfacing – Main St. from 1000 N. to the South Y.

Construction on these two projects will begin at the end of June and last two months. The majority of the work, according to Lindhardt, will be completed during the overnight hours.

Crews will not be working July 4 or 24.

Other UDOT projects include railroad improvements at:

Highway 89 by Rendezvous Park.

400 S. by the Aquatic Center.

600 W., north of the Aquatic Center.

Utah State has a few projects in the works:

Street light upgrades and wider sidewalk at 1000 N. and 900–1200 E.

Improvements for pedestrian safety taking place near campus on 700 N.

Improvements at 1400 N. and 800 E.

Continue improvements on roundabout at 600 E. and 500 N.

Logan City projects:

New traffic signal and widening of road at 1400 N. and 600 W. Utility work begins late fall with roadwork construction scheduled for Spring of 2020.

Improvements on South Main sidewalks will finish in the next two weeks.

Sewer improvements at 600 E. 1150 N. will be complete in 4-6 weeks.

Water line and storm drain project at 1200 N. from 200 E. – 600 E., still out for bid.

Center Street improvements from Main to 100 W.; plan for an August 5 start date.

Resurfacing on Airport Road from 1000 W. to city limits, start date in September.

“Busy summer,” concluded Lindhart.
